5sos at Madison Square Garden

Dare to dream and dare to believe in yourself.  Tonight I saw 4 young men experience having their dreams come true. From a garage in Western Sydney where 4 boys first started to dream and plan, to playing to a sold out crowd at Madison Square Garden. They believed in themselves and stayed true to themselves and their families and made us all proud.

Only a handful of Australians have played Madison Square Garden and none as young as these four talented young men. They may have had some luck along the way but you mostly make your own luck through hard work and by making the most of every opportunity that comes your way. Don’t be fooled these young men have worked hard to get to this point. They have also had the love and support of their families and a great team of people around them.

The joy on the band’s faces was as evident as the joy on the faces of the audience. I feel so privileged to have been a part of their journey and to have watched them grow into the fine young men that they have become. They are not only talented musicians but also genuinely kind and caring men. Thank you Luke, Michael, Ashton and Calum for sharing your journey with me.

My sister and I had the chance to see them headline Hershey Park Stadium for the first time last year, not to mention that they were my first concert, and now this year at Madison square garden. Once again, my sister and I had the chance to see them hit another milestone in their career. I am so happy and proud of them 🙂

  7. Thank you so much for the great photos! I went to 7 shows this tour and NYC was my hometown show. To sell out MSG is no small feat and to see the band kill it this night was everything. You should all be immensely proud!

  8. Great pictures that captured a wonderful night 🙂 I went to the concert and to soundcheck a few hours prior, and it was a day that I’ll never forget. I’m so proud of the boys and I’m very happy to be able to see them continue to succeed. Madison Square Garden is obviously a big deal, so again I’m just so happy that I was able to be there and these photos are amazing. Thank you 🙂

  9. So happy to watch them grow so much over the last four years. Madison Square Garden was a whole new level and I’ve been there before, but the energy was never like that, never so high. I’m so proud of them and so thankful that they work so hard 🙂

  10. They deserve everything they have earned. I’m very proud of them. I had an amazing chance to see them at MSG and it was amazing. I’m super proud of them for not only playing MSG but for fucking selling it out. Love these boys. xx

  11. Hey Liz,
I had emailed you about purchasing a picture of Luke to have him sign at my meet and greet. I know I want one from msg. Not sure which one. Which of them is your favorite?

  12. So proud of them! I was not able to go to this show but got to see them in Hershey all three years they’ve been, from 2013 to 2016, and to see them perform their first stadium show was so special. I know every one of the fans including me were crying tears of joy when we heard they sold out msg. I’m so proud to call myself a fan because they gave me my favorite music to listen to.

  13. Seen them 2014 in Germany and said to my daughter “if these guys will ever be able to sell out Madison Square Garden , I promise I’ ll try to bring you there”, thinking they would never make it… I kept my promise! The NYC concert was one of their best and we BOTH enjoyed every minute and never regretted coming from Berlin only for the concert .

  14. I was thereeee, I traveled from Ecuador!! Can’t believe how time goes by so quickly. I remember when I bought the tickets like almost a year ago. Hope I can see them again, that was the best night of my life.

  15. I went to montreal, msg and camden with my friends, travelled from argentina. so many dreams came true that night 💖 i’m incredibly proud of them and everything they’ve achieved! thank you liz for helping them all the way 🙂

  16. I was lucky enough to win tickets to Rock Out With Your Socks Out last year and I could not have possibly asked for a better first concert experience. After that show I became a fan and ended up getting soundcheck this year. I had to save up for a while and I had to give up a lot so I could be there, but they were amazing and I wouldn’t have traded it for the world. They are such amazing performers and have so much talent. I definitely do not regret being a fan for the past year and I hope to see them live next year and for many years to come 🙂

  17. Great pictures you captured, Liz. I went to SLFL Jakarta with a friend of mine. It was my first time to go to their concert and it was the BEST NIGHT EVER. I love the boys and you so much for raising a wonderful human being like Luke and to capture great photos. I’m so proud of how far they’ve come. You must be the proudest mum ever.

P.S. Please tell them to come back here (Jakarta) and tell them I love them sooo much hahaha
P.P.S Sorry for my bad English lol

  18. Literally screaming (internally, haha) with pride for them! I’m so glad they finally made it! The pictures are amazing, as always, It’s clear to see how happy they are; this will forever make me smile!
