Instead of travelling back down the main highway we wanted to see some more of the countryside so we took a detour through Cayuga Village. We were hoping to get some lunch there but like Seneca Falls there was nothing open on the 4th July holiday Monday.
We did find a railway crossing with what looked like a station but was the Clerks office and Town Hall. This was set right next to the lake which was busy with boats. The park next to the lake is Harris Park, there is a roped off swimming area complete with life guard who was definitely not run off his feet.
The drive from Seneca Falls to Cayuga was beautiful, through farmland and past the Montezuma National Park.
